Florida Atlantic @ Middle Tennessee St

Nothing like national TV to get two Sunbelt programs fired up. The Sunbelt rarely gets national TV games so you can be sure that these two teams will be ready to play. Coaches will be fired up also because this is a chance to make some headway when it comes to recruiting.

I can already see the thought process for some bettors. Middle Tennessee beat Maryland, and Maryland is 4-1 knocking off 2 top 25 opponents. Therefore Middle Tennessee should roll over FAU tonight right? Man I wish it was that easy.

I feel confident saying that FAU has one of the toughest opening schedules out there. They really had no shot to win their game at Michigan State, but mostly because of the weather. That game was rainy and windy to the point where passing was almost impossible. Don't believe me, look at the stats for Rusty Smith that game. Those are not numbers Rusty Smith puts up if the weather is normal. And seeing as how FAU is a passing team, and Michigan State is a running team, what chance did they ever have in that game.

Middle Tennessee has a good dual threat QB in Dasher. He will determine who wins this game. If Dasher can be efficient with both his feet and arm, picking up key 3rd downs with his legs when everything breaks down, then MTSU has a good shot tonight. FAU has enough experience on defense that I think they will be able to keep MTSU from moving the ball up and down the field at will. I also expect that FAU should be able to move the ball through the air effectively.

I like FAU to win this game outright, but I will take the 2.5 points because they are giving them to me.

****Shows how much I know, Dasher isn't even the starting QB, Craddock is. He is less of a threat with his feet, so I like the play even more now.
